Patsy is an Educational Psychologist based in Newtown, Powys, and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Patsy is also an EAGALA certified equine assisted psychotherapist in the role of mental health practitioner. Patsy is the director and of Psychological Assessment and Therapies Ltd, an independent practice specialising in identifying the developmental and educational needs of children and young people and the provision required to meet these needs. Patsy provides a range of services which include:
- Expert witness in Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunals
- Consultancy in local authority, independent, mainstream and special schools
- Assessment of special educational needs and specific learning difficulties
- Assessment of behavioural, emotional and social needs
- Advice and guidance in relation to interventions
- Equine assisted psychotherapy with children, young people, adults and groups
Patsy’s experience has been gained through working as an Educational Psychologist in local authorities, the NHS, independent practise, and in services specialising in adoption, fostering and Looked After Children. As well as offering consultancy and assessment to a range of independent service providers, families and to schools within the maintained and independent sectors, Patsy has worked within a multi-professional child development team specialising in support for those with autistic spectrum conditions and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Patsy is experienced in working with children and young people from birth to age 25 years who present with the full range of special educational needs and is an experienced expert witness in the special educational needs and disability tribunal (SENDisT and SENTW).
Prior to qualifying as an Educational Psychologist, Patsy worked as a teacher in mainstream and special schools and this included experience as a SENCO.
